In Singapore the Creative Technology has launched the New Creative Zen Vision with Wide ScreenA prelude to bringing the widescreen portable media player for sale in the United States this September.
The Creative Zen Vision W have a 16:9 widescreen player with 720x480 resolution across its 4.3-inch screen. And can connect to TV for 720x480 (720x576 for PAL) using its built-in TV-out connector. The included battery pack will power the device for about 4.5 hours. The player supports the MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4-SP, MJPEG, XViD video codecs, MP3 files. The Player supports Microsoft Windows Media 11 digital rights management technology, users can also load in music from the MTV Urge service, as well as Windows Media 10 services such as Napster to Go and MSN Music, plus others. The player also includes an FM tuner, albeit with no listed FM recording capabilities. Data can be loaded onto the player via a USB 2.0 connector or a CompactFlash Type I/II slot.
Good news for travellers this Zen Vision W also includes the ability to sync its native calendar to Outlook, to provide a reminder of important events while the user is traveling, a clock with alarm, plus utilities to manage space and the allocated data. A built-in microphone allows verbal note-taking.
Other accessories, such as a screen protector, case, travel charger, and CompactFlash adapter, but will be sold separately.
In U.S.market, Zen Vision W will have two versions: a 30-Gbyte version for $399.99, and a 60-Gbyte version for $499.99 released in September shipment in the U.S.
In Singapore, the Zen Vision W will also be released in September in Singapore, with the 30-Gbyte model priced at S$649, or about $412 in U.S. dollars, while the 60-Gbyte version will cost S$749, or about $475 in dollars.
Creative also announced a 60-Gbyte version of the Creative Zen Vision:M, again only available in Singapore. Available at the COMEX show in Singapore for a special price of S$599 ($380), the player will be sold by Creative's Singapore line and at other island shops by the end of September.
